André Lamarre

André has a wealth of experience in broadcasting, business and political governance. He served as an anchor, and political journalist for the Réseau de l’information (RDI), the CBC’s French-language news channel, for several years.

In 1996, he left journalism for politics. André held several senior positions in the Government of Canada as an advisor to several cabinet ministers, gaining a solid mix of professional experience in intergovernmental and international affairs, strategic planning and crisis management.

André has a special interest in R&D and innovation issues. He helped shape a new strategic framework for the defence and aerospace industry, helped to strengthen Canada’s international position on patent protection for the pharmaceutical industry, and secured financing for Canada Excellence Research Chairs.

Now an executive in an international IT corporation, André collaborates with Interplay on strategic communications projects, and is our primary francophone media trainer. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
