Welcome to our experiment

It had to happen, sooner or later.

For all that we have been telling our clients to get involved in social media, we have been way, way behind the curve in terms of our own presence online.

But finally we intend to change that.

Welcome to the next generation of our web site. And welcome to our experiment in blogging!

We hope to get a conversation going with people who think about the way today’s news media operate — how reporters, producers and editors are doing their jobs and what that means for the spokespersons and media-relations people who deal with them.

This won’t be a blog about spin. There are lots and lots of those, run by small armies of keen amateurs, political volunteers, and paid political staffers.

Rather this will be a blog about the daily interactions between the people who make the news and the chroniclers who turn today’s events into the first draft of history. We’ll keep an eye on the trends that affect those interactions, and provide occasional advice and insight about how newsmakers can improve the coverage they receive.

Thanks for checking in. If you’d like to comment on anything you see here, go right ahead. You’ll need to register using the box on the left-hand side of this page, and your first comment will need to be approved by our web team just so we can get our relationship off to a nice easy start.

We look forward to talking with you.
